A number of forums have been held.

The first Forum was held in Charlottetown, PEI on July 28-29, 2006. The theme was “Conservation of Forest Genetic Resources: Challenges, Issues, and Solutions”. It was here that the concept of CONFORGEN was presented and consensus achieved to move forward with developing a program.

The second Forum was held in Quebec, QC on August 29, 2008. The theme was: “Applied Forest Genetic Conservation”.

The third Forum was held in Thunder Bay, ON on August 19, 2011. The theme was: “Impact of Climate Change on Forest Genetic Resources: Mitigation Strategies”.

The fourth Forum was held in Whistler, BC on July 25, 2013. The theme was: “Contribution of Genomics to Developing Forest Genetic Resource Conservation Strategies”.
